But, before I go into how to treat them, let's talk about what a pimple is.

A pimple is a common skin condition that affects the face, back, neck, chest, shoulder, upper arm e.t.c.
It commonly occurs during puberty when the sebaceous glands begin to activate.

The human skin has pores that connect to oil glands under the skin. Follicles connect the glands to the pores. Follicles are small sacs that produce and secrete liquid.

The glands produce an oily liquid called sebum. Sebum carries dead skin cells through the follicles to the surface of the skin.

Pimples grow when these follicles get blocked, and oil builds up under the skin. They are not dangerous but it can leave scars, blackheads, cysts and nodules if not treated properly.

There are alot of lotions and medicines which are used to treat this but there are home remedies that you can do to treat pimples and this saves cost and acts fast, faster than the medicines you buy.

Here, are 5 ways of getting rid of pimples.

1) ICE
Yes, ice. Ice can be used to quickly reduce the redness and swelling of the pimples. It tightenes the skin pores and removes dirt and oil accumulated on the skin.

  • So, how to go about this is to crush the ice, wrap it in a piece of cloth and keep it on the affected area for a few minutes, then repeat the process for about 3-4 times.

2) Toothpaste
White toothpaste not gel toothpaste is effective in treating pimples.

  • So, before going to bed, apply the white toothpaste over the affected area. Early in the morning, wash it off with water.

You can do it in the daytime if its convenient for you but make sure it stays for about an hour on your face.

  • Get a cotton ball, soak it in lemon juice and apply it to your pimples before going to bed.

4) Honey
Honey is a source of a natural antibiotic that speeds up the healing process, as well as prevent infections.

  • Dip a clean cotton swab in honey, put it directly on the affected area and leave it on for half an hour.
  • Wash the skin well with lukewarm water.
  • Do this a few times a day.

Cucumber is a rich source of potassium and vitamins, i.e Vit C, Vit A, Vit E. It also has a cooling and a soothing effect on the skin.
